I have seen the one from ALPro. I have also heard it. It is not designed for the M19 - it is supposed to be used with their 604-8L. Therefore, the component values will not be suitable for the M19.
It is made overseas, and is based on a pirated (and incorrect I'm told) copy of the Mastering Labs crossover that ML built for Altec 604's a long time ago.
The workmanship was good, but, overall, I was not impressed with how it sounded.

I recently acquired a pair of very good condition Model 19 and am looking for ways to improve its performance.
I don't like the binding posts and wish to replace it and also the internal wires.
From the previous threads, I understand that the super cross over will be available soon. Can someone tell me how long shall I wait for it?
Any suggestion on improving the performance of the speakers? My friend suggest me to reinforce the cabinet. Will it help.
Thanks.

If you look inside your factory M19 enclosure, you should see plenty of bracing. If, for some reason unknown to me, there is not, you can always add some. It won't hurt you any.
Make sure the insulation is intact and still in place.
The internal wiring should be replaced with 14-gauge, stranded, twisted pair. Take care to maintain phasing. Don't waste your money on "special sound wire" - there's no such thing.
You might also wish to make sure that your drivers and woofers are performing up to spec, and that the acoustic foam insert around the horn is intact. If not, there is a place where you can get replacements.
Upgrades to the stock M19 crossovers are available now from Iconic Mfg. Co. - you will have to send in your existing ones to have the new parts, which are mounted to a new plate, attached to your existing facelple. The new crossover for Altec 604-8K's is in the works, and will debut before the new SUPERCrossover for the M19. It should be available sometime in the late fall.

Thx Todd for the info.
If the super crossover will be available later this year, I better wait till then to upgrade the crossover.
The black acoustic foam around the horn of my 19 were gone. I wish to know where I can get it.
Thx again.

There's a guy who makes the foam replacements and sells them on eBay. They look pretty good...
